Alice Blue, a Richmond-based visual creation studio, confirmed on Monday that it has purchased Nucleus Imaging, a bigger firm in New York. The acquisition deal was completed in December but the financial terms were not disclosed, according to Times Dispatch.
Meredith Ott, creative director of Alice, said they chose Nucleus because it is known to have great attention to detail and a visual creation method that is congruent with that of the firm. She added that they have clients based in New York and in the Northeast region, the report explained.
Ott said: "We were looking to expand into that market and to add to our presence, especially in the New York area."
Under the terms of the acquisition deal, Nucleus will be renamed NucleusAB - An Alice Blue Studio. The 20-year-old firm employs 15 workers and specializes in photo design and Web-based photo editing. It caters to clients such as Tiffany's, David Yurman, and other major ad companies, the report detailed.
The 8-year-old Alice studio currently employs seven people in its team. The company specializes in photography and digital imaging in print and motion. Its clients include the Martin Agency, and some local and ad firms both in and outside of the US, Times Dispatch reported.
