Donna, a mobile personal assistant app made by Incredible Labs, will stop operating starting February 28. The shutdown comes just one month after Yahoo acqui-hired the app's maker, according to TechCrunch.
The mobile app sent an email to its users explaining the shutdown. Consequentially, the San Francisco-based app will stop sending push notifications that remind users about their appointments and tasks, the report explained.
A portion of the said email from Donna reads: "As you may have heard, my team is soon headed off to Yahoo to start a new chapter. I've decided it's time for me to move on to new adventures as well. Tomorrow, Friday February 28th, I'll be retiring as an assistant, so I won't be sending you notifications to remind you when to leave anymore."
Donna also explained what will happen to its users' data: "I will be permanently deleting your account information, as well as all calendar data you shared with me."
The virtual personal assistant published an announcement on January 30 via its blog, which also outlined more details on the shutdown, TechCrunch reported.
