Chicago's Savor introduces personalized deals aggregator with coupon catalog

By

Savor is developing a mobile and web app that personalizes aggregated online deals and lets users flip through organized catalogs of offers, according to TechCrunch.

The Savor deals aggregator is currently available on the web and iPad. According to co-founder Rich DeNardis, users can still search for offers or browse through categories as they would in an ordinary couponing site. But savor will ask users to sign up via Facebook so that it can use their "likes" and interests to compile coupons that really appeal to the users. Customers can then configure the app to remind them about bookmarked deals or email digests, the report explained.

DeNardis compares Savor to Fliboard, because it organizes coupons into catalogs that are more visually appealing. Users can flip through these catalogs and save deals as they browse through, the report detailed.

At present, Savor is working on an app for an Android tablet, then will move on to smartphone versions. The company is also aiming to expand into brick-and-mortar stores using card-linked deals, the report added.

Based in Chicago, Savor's 6-man team has raised its initial funding from friends and family. The company is planning to raise $1 million in a seed round by the end of 2014's first quarter, TechCrunch reported.
