In a bid to strengthen its business in India, Switzerland-based cabling firm Reichle & De-Massari (R&M) has purchased fiber optic products manufacturer Advanced Fiber Systems (AFS), according to VC Circle.
R&M Asia-Pacific Executive Vice President Laurent Amestoy said of the deal: "This acquisition is a key milestone to expand our business in India. We can now actively participate in the growing fibre-optic network deployments, fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) roll-outs and data centre projects."
Under the terms of the acquisition deal, the AFS workforce will move to R&M's headquarters in India. The financial details of the transaction, however, were not disclosed, the report detailed.
According to Deal Curry, AFS was incorporated in 2002. At present, supplies fiber optic products to telecom firms to produce high-speed data connection. The firm's factory is located in Bangalore, the report said.
Founded in 1964, R&M provides passive cabling solutions for communication networks in more than 30 countries, Deal Curry reported.
