BBC Three stars join together in protest for channel switch

By

Earlier reports of BBC3 being axed have sent the youth oriented channel's stars to campaign against its shift to an online channel. This was after BBC director general Tony Hall announced his intended cost cutting in the network last 2013. Hall said that the shift of the channel to online-only would help reach the targeted GBP100 million savings per year.

However, BBC3's stars were against the shift making them sent a protest in social media platform Twitter. Hashtag #saveBBCThree went viral as comedians and presenters including Richard Bacon and Jack Whitehall expressed their sentiments over the shift. The two started the protest that intended to block Hall's move.

Hall's move would be imminent and would air the youth channel BBC3 to iPlayer internet service. This would get BBC save millions right after the program is axed.

Comedian Whitehall who appears in the channel's Bad Education show said that BBC3 is vital in promoting rising talents.
