Liz Wahl made a very strong remark against the network she had been working for as a news anchor. This was after Wahl, an American anchor, said that she cannot tolerate the acts done by Russian President Vladimir Putin that is being whitewashed by channel RT. The Russian president was said to have been intervening in Crimea through military force.
Wahl is the American correspondent of channel RT which was known before as Russia Today. The American journalist expressed her views regarding the actions set by Putin in the Ukrainian region. On Wednesday, Wahl told viewers, "I cannot be part of a network funded by the Russian government that whitewashes the actions of Putin. I'm proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth, and that is why, after this newscast, I'm resigning."
The American anchor continued saying, “As the daughter of a military veteran and the wife of a military base physician the network's coverage of a potentially explosive crisis presented ethical and moral dilemmas.”
