Manheim has purchased the family-run Shotts Motor Auctions in Scotland. Financial terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed, according to Fleet News.
Motor Trader cited Manheim Scotland regional director Ian Irvine saying of the deal: "Having considered all of the options, I know that our decision to join the Manheim family is the right one for the Shotts Motor Auctions business. Being part of the world's biggest vehicle remarketing business gives us the assurance, insight and financial backing to grow Manheim's market share in Scotland."
Under the terms of the acquisition deal, Shotts' workforce will be integrated into Manheim. Irvine's new role as the regional director for Manheim Scotland is also part of the transaction's terms, the report detailed.
Shotts Motor Auctions' 10-acre facility is currently situated between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The place is capable of storing up to 250 vehicles. The company was established in 1989, Fleet News reported.
