Tiger Woods withdraws from Arnold Palmer Invitational first round scheduled March 20 at Bay Hill. Woods said that he will not play this week after being bothered by series of back spasms.
Woods was supposedly scheduled to play the first two games with Harris English and Graeme McDowell. After his announced withdrawal, Woods would be replaced by Brice Garnett. The game would tee off at 1:08 p.m. on Thursday on the front nine and on Friday at 8:23 a.m. for the back nine.
The Arnold Palmer Invitational would take place from Thursday until Sunday at Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Orlando Florida. At stake for the winner is a hefty USD1.116 million prize in a USD6.2 million purse. Aside from that, 500 FedEx Cup points would be rewarded to the winner.
Top ranked players vying for the win are Adam Scott, Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose and Zach Johnson for the OWGR category. Meanwhile for the Golfweek/Sagarin, Adam Scott, Zach Johnson, Justin Rose, Bubba Watson and Henrik Stenson would be competing.
