Barcelona bagged home the victory against Real Madrid last March 23 and was seen to be one of the greatest matches in recent memory. This game showed almost everything including three penalties, a red card, a hat trick from Lionel Messi and of course—spectacular goals.
The game started with so much energy with both teams getting good chances to score a goal. In the fourth minute, Lionel Messi hit Neymar with a pass. However, the shot from the Brazilian was covered up by Diego Lopez. Karim Benzema grabbed a poor pass a minute later, sending a well wide shot.
Messi and Neymar’s quick counter against Madrid’s defense already displayed a warning. However, the Los Blancos did not quite see this and in the seventh minute, Messi saw the left side of the box with Andres Iniesta not wasting his chance. He tried to score a shot but it went up over Lopez’s shoulder and into the goal’s top right corner. This gave Barcelona an early lead of 1-0.
