UK social shopping startup Nuji nabs $2M in seed funding to build mobile app

British fashion and lifestyle curation platform Nuji has raised $2 million in seed financing to launch its own mobile app. TAG, Samos, Seedcamp, and other undisclosed angel investors participated in the round, according to TechCrunch.

The London-based startup will use the raised capital for the launching of its iOS app in April. Nuji had previously attempted to go mobile first. As of now, an Android version of the coming app is not yet in the works, the report detailed.

Co-founder Dean Fankhauser explained: "Now that the website is more mature, it's the right time to tackle mobile based all of our learnings. It was very important that we focus on web or mobile in the beginning, not both. We wanted to make mistakes on one platform and once we were confident in our product strategy based on data we had, we were more comfortable to dive head first into mobile."

An unnamed prominent European retail investor also contributed to Nuji's seed round, TechCrunch added.
