York Professional Baseball Club LLC has acquired the sports radio broadcaster WOYK AM 1350 in Pennsylvania. The said station was bought from WOYK Inc, according to York Dispatch.
In January 14, the two companies announced that they have entered an acquisition deal and began the transfer process thereafter. Under the terms of the said deal, York Revolution's broadcaster Darrell Henry has become WOYK's new general manager. In addition, the radio station will also become a Hershey Bears Radio Network affiliate, the report detailed.
WOYK is set to launch a weekly talk show that will feature the sports programs of York College. The station has been the official radio partner of the school's basketball games for the past 10 seasons, the report added.
Another talk show that will be launched next winter is the weekly York Revolution Hot Stove. This will focus on news about contract signings and other events concerning the Revolution and the Atlantic League until the next baseball season begins. The company will announce more programs later on, York Dispatch reported.
