After Samsung decided to pay Jay-Z’s USD5 million for his leak in his new album, Wu-Tang Clan has been planning to sell only one copy of their stealthy album. Wu-Tang’s “The Wu-Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” would be released but in a single copy. This would mean that the legendary rap group’s single release would be highly expensive, said a post on Gizmodo.
The post continued saying the plan was brilliant as it would only be owned by one collector following the single item sale. According to the legendary rapper, "We're about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music. We're making a single-sale collector's item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king."
Before a scheduled sale, the album and the box would travel to galleries and art museums. The box was engraved by Yahha, a British-Moroccan artist. Wu-Tang member Cilvaringz said that he got the idea of selling only a single piece of the collector’s item following Samsungs multimillion dollar offer for a leak on Jay-Z’s album.
