Online bus ticketing firm Ticketgoose has landed INR24 crore in its second financing round. The capital was raised via American crowdfunding site Indventure, according to Times of India (TOI).
Ticketgoose president and co-founder Karthi Easwaramoorthy remarked: "The 30,000 crore bus ticketing market is untapped and is growing at about 30% every year. We will focus on marketing our product and expanding our reach."
The Chennai-based startup will use the new capital to beef up its marketing and branding campaigns. Ticketgoose had previously raised INR6 crore in its first funding round through crowdfunding also. A group of American investors backed the round. The firm used that fund to enhance its technology and inventory, the report detailed.
The bus ticketing firm was incorporated in 2007. However, it was only in 2009 that it started operating. Aside from ticketing services, the website also provides food and travel insurance packages for travelers. Foodbox and United India Insurance are the partners of Ticketgoose in this business, TOI reported.
