Lady Gaga, the most controversial singer of our generation, is celebrating her 28th birthday today March 28. Lady Gaga has been a prominent figure in the industry probably because of her bizarre fashion sense, not to mention her superb voice and hip dance moves. She started her career writing songs for other musicians until AKON discovered her.
The controversial singer was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in New York. She was the eldest among two sisters and came from lower class families. She started learning the piano at age 4 and went to Convent of the Sacred Heart despite her acceptance in Julliard School in Manhattan. Lady Gaga wrote her first ballad when she was 13 and gave her first public performance a year after in a nightclub in New York.
Before reaching stardom, Lady Gaga had her own fair share of ups and downs. She was signed with Def Jam Records in 2005 but was dropped few months after. She also signed with Interscope Records to write songs for The Pussycat Dolls, New Kids on the Block and Britney Spears. Things were on a different note when AKON signed her in leading to the release of her The Fame album in 2008.
According to a Forbes 2013 report, Lady Gaga has now a net worth of USD190 million.
