Michael Jackson's XSCAPE album to be released on May 13

Earlier this morning, an announcement was made by Epic Records saying the album of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson would be released in spring. The album would be titled XSCAPE that would include eight unreleased tracks from Michael’s archives. These tracks were said to have been “contemporized” by producers including Timbaland to have a more modern sound, reported The Verge.

LA Reid, Epic’s CEO, is the executive producer of XSCAPE. The new album would be the latest after the release of Michael in 2010. The Verge said the Reid chose each of the track from the late Michael Jackson’s archives and has worked with Timbaland and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins.

Reid announced, "Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with."

XSCAPE would be made available in stores on May 13 and can be preordered on iTunes tomorrow.
