Smart headphones The Dash managed to raise a total of $3 million on Kickstarter, soaring past its original funding goal of $260,000. The campaign was launched in February, according to Ubergizmo.
Because of the demand for the product, the early bird orders are already unavailable. However, those who still want to get a hold of The Dash can pre-order it for $299 per pair. Unfortunately, the orders placed now can be delivered on January, the report detailed.
The Dash is a pair of wireless headphones that eliminates the need for buttons and cables and replaces those with touch controls. The product can also monitor the user's heart rate and oxygen level. In addition, it has a 1-meter-depth waterproof feature. When listening to music in a public place, the headphones can be put on "transparent" mode so the user can still hear sounds of incoming danger, the report explained.
A mobile app for The Dash is now in the works. This app will provide a better way to monitor the user's vital signs and workout progress, Ubergizmo reported.
