Since last month, no US military member has died in Afghanistan, according to a CNN report. This is the third time that no casualties were reported since the war broke 12 years ago. This also makes it a first in more than seven years. This was according to a CNN Library data, keeping records on death tolls for the US military serving in Afghanistan.

According to a data shown by the CNN Library, it was in July 2002 and January 2007 that no death tolls were listed in the past months during Operation Enduring Freedom. This year, there were 14 listed deaths in Afghanistan during a combat.

Since October 7, 2001, there were 2,309 US military men who have died serving their post in Afghanistan.

NATO said in their website that US military forces are helping the officials in Afghanistan to secure the country and prevent terrorists from getting in and making Afghanistan its haven. Meanwhile, the mission in Afghanistan was set to finally end in the latter part of this year, reported CNN.
