Booktrack, an Ebook soundtrack platform, announced raising Series A funding valued USD3 million, reported TechCrunch. The company also said that it would launch a new drive focusing on education on its platform, the Booktrack Classroom.
The idea of incorporating a soundtrack on an e-book may be tricky but CEO Paul Cameron said that “the combination of music and ambient sound effects can make the reading experience much more immersive — it’s one thing to read that a character was standing on a noisy street, and another to hear the sounds of honking taxis.”
The biggest launch prior the funding was the company’s Booktrack Studio, reported TechCrunch. Booktrack Studio lets professionals and amateur alike to create soundtracks for e-books. The company said that after five months after the launch, the company has garnered 300,000 users to mobile apps and the site. It also added that there were more than 3600 soundtracks for e-book created in multiple languages.
Meanwhile, Cameron said that the company has now two main focus that included publishing and education, said TechCrunch.
