Merus Capital has taken in new investments for two new funds, reported TechCrunch. Merus raised more than $50 million for Merus Capital Opportunity Fund and Merus Capital II. The investments in the funding round was marked 4.0x net came from a number of investors, said the venture capital firm.
AdRoll, an ad retargeter that has recently raised $70 million funding round, received an early funding from the VC firm. Other Merus Capital investments would also include Chai Labs, IO Turbine, Authentic 8, Runa and Perzo.
Merus directs its focus towards companies referred to as “iEnterprise’. This type of startup is built to possible scale clients towards the enterprise. iEnterprise are startups that build enterprise type of software platforms that are equipped with consumer-grade client experience.
Merus was co-founded by Sean Dempsey, a former Google executive. Before his post at Google, he spent six years working in the Corporate Development team of Microsoft Inc. The fund’s other financiers included ex-Managing Direct of Microsoft’s Corporate Strategy Group Peter Hsing and Salman Ullah, a former executive at Google and Microsoft.
