Weymouth - A quiz night happening on June 6 aims to raise funds for children's charity CHICKS and promote Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's higest peak.
Hosted by Mount Kilimanjaro women climber pair Fran Ryan and Sue Cox, the event--which will also have a bumper raffle--will be held at the Centenary Club in Jubilee Close, Weymouth at 7:30 pm.
The event will promote Mount Kilimanjaro, a volcanic mountain in Tanzania. Many climbers have grown interested to climb this mountain due to the recommendations of other climbers who have already reached its summit.
Sunit Sanghrajka, president of the US-based travel group Alluring Africa, explained that it is the terrain and the ability to combine a wildlife experience which makes the climb it worthwhile. He also said Africa is kind of distant and lesser known which gives it somewhat of an allure to it.
Sanghrajka also suggested that you have to be physically fit to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, but you do not need to be a technical climber--good equipment and a strong body would already help a great deal. He also added that it is very popular because it is a great place for family vacations.
The CHICKS childrens' charity is a group that help disadvantaged children in the UK. These children are those who have been broken in many ways like physically and sexually all over the UK. The group's mission is to help them have a better future.
