Marriott Hotel launches LGBT travel campaign

By

Marriott International has recently launched its LGBT campaign that celebrates the joys of diversity of gender and love.

Marriot is using the #LoveTravels hashtag to spread the campaign for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender customers and their families on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, highlighting that they would like "to make everyone feel comfortable being who they are, everywhere they travel."

The hotel describes the campaign's hashtag as a universal theme that they believe is shared by all cultures and communities, and something that truly represents their company's philosophy and values.

Two of the celebrities who are part of the campaign are NBA player Jason Collins, and transgender model Geena Rocero. Collins said that this campaign--which was especially reportedly planned for millenials and next-generation travelers--is important not only to the LGBT community, but to society in general.

He told USA today: "When I travel with a boyfriend, we really want to feel that sense of inclusiveness regardless of our sexual orientation or religion. We want that feeling of being welcome."

Kristine Friend, the senior director of segment marketing for Marriott International, said that the hotel aims to educate and shift perception of their portfolio brand. She explained: "We've decided to kick off a holistic campaign that really helps celebrate inclusiveness and beautifully illustrates our desire to make people feel at home at our hotels."

Renowed photographer Braden summers has also made the campaign more special with his beautiful images, which could be found at the hotel's #lovetravels page, where customers could see travel options like attending Pride events or having weekend getaways.
