A recent study has revealed the destinations where China's super-rich like to visit.
The Hurun Report, a firm that does a survey on the trends of the China's wealthiest, interviewed about 200 Chinese "super-tourists" (those who took an average of 18 days of vacation abroad, spending at least $25,000 on a trip) and asked them about the places they'd like to visit in the next three years.
The destinations mentioned were South America (Bolivia), Africa, and the Mediterranean (for a luxury cruise), and Europe (Switzerland).
According to the report, the rising motivation for these elite travelers is medical tourism. Two-thirds of the participants in the interview said that they would consider traveling to a different country for a trip to the hospital (with 27% choosing Switzerland as the top destination for medical care).
It is also interesting to note that despite Hong Kong's hostility towards mainland Chinese visitors, it still remains a top destination.
In a separate survey, Hurun talked to 393 "high-net-worth individuals with at least 10 million yuan ($1.6 million) in assets," and found the following as their top travel destinations: Australia, France, Dubai, Switzerland, and the Maldives.
Meanwhile, a list made by the Malaysia Chronicle enumerated the the top 10 popular countries that the rich Chinese people like to visit: Australiam, France, Dubai UAE, Swizerland, Maldives, United States, Japan, Germany, Singapore, and New Zealand.
The list has only three European countries, but the report revealed that the number of visitors in Germany was relatively high.
