Child Protection Services (CPS) said that the investigation into the controversial Willow Smith-Moises Arias photo will soon be over.
An investigation by CPS was launched last month after a photo of 13-year-old Willow and 20-year-old actor Moises Arias was posted on Instagram.
The black-and-white photo, which was reportedly taken during the Coachella music festival in California and has since been deleted by Arias, shows Willow (wearing jeans and a shirt) laying in bed with a shirtless Arias.
An earlier statement said that Willow's parents--actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith--cooperated with the officials. Jada, however, defended her daughter, saying that "there was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation."
"You guys are projecting your trash onto it. You're acting like covert pedophiles and that's not cool," she added.
The person who called CPS hotline and asked for the investigation was not revealed. Neil Zanville of the Office of Public Affairs explained that anyone can call in-- "At that point our agency will immediately investigate if appropriate, take all necessary precautions to safeguard the well-being of the child."
CPS told reporters that there is no evidence that Willow has been in danger around Moises. A source said that the investigation may still be open for about two more weeks "out of an abundance of caution" with not findings of reprimand for the 13-year-old's parents. "Willow is a very well adjusted, smart, and articulate young lady," it added.
Arias is an actor / director / photographer best known for his part in Disney teen TV series "Hannah Montana." He is a close family friend of the Smiths, and is a close friend Jaden, Willow's 15-year-old brother.
