According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple will have Dr. Dre be a part of its music division. The company has also been focusing on creating cutting edge audio experience. Previously, Apple transformed the way people listen and access music through the iPod. It appears the company wants to create a similar impact. Apple will also be reportedly transforming its marketing approach to encourage the electronics and subscription business of Beats. Based from the company's recent activities, Apple wants to strengthen the Beats brand along with its own.
As if in support of the company's acquisition Apple has been working on an earbud technology that can detect if the music device is near the user's ear or not. If the device is close to the user then the device can play music automatically. The company has cleared a new patent describing a new technology to be incorporated in audio devices.
According to the patent published by the US Patent and Trademark Office, Apple's invention involves the use of multiple sensors in a device's earbuds or audio component. The sensors can recognize of the audio component is near the user. It can detect metrics like capacitive, acoustics and temperature. If the earbuds are close enough, the sensors can signal the device to play the audio file without having the user input the command directly on the phone.
The patent goes by the name "Electronic Devices and Accessories with Media Streaming Control Features." With a few months left on its timeline, Apple may find an opening to include the feature on its upcoming iPhone and iPad.
