The veteran police television series "The Mentalist" will not just be full of action and suspense in the next and final season, it will also be filled with drama and romance because of the blooming Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Teresa Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) relationship.
In the season 6 finale, Jane confessed his love to FBI agent Lisbon. He boarded the airplane and broke the rules of the airport's security just to admit his feelings to her.
The next season will definitely explore the emotions and relationship of Jane and Lisbon. The two will work together solving crimes and make their personal relationship work. Also, there might be a love triangle between Jane, Lisbon, and Agent Marcus Pike (Pedro Pascal) Pike is inviting Lisbon to live with him in Washington.
However, creator Bruno Heller said that the final season will have more action scenes compared to the previous ones. "It's much faster paced, more thrilling, more action, more surprises. We'll still be delivering those mysteries every week. But just as you see with the last episode of the season, there's no more tracking and more chasing," Heller told Entertainment Weekly.
Moreover, the writers of the show are now busy working on the final season of the police hit drama, finishing what they have started at season 6--the Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon romance.
Karl Sonnenberg, who portrays CBI Karl, tweeted that the cast of will start shooting on August, and that the writers are now working on the story. "Some principal shooting the middle of July. The full crew starts the 1st week of August. Writers are working," he said.
Unfortunately, "The Mentalist" fans will have to wait longer for the upcoming season. Season 7 will only have 13 action-packed and dramatic episodes and will starts in 2015.
