Apple will not release the iOS 8 until fall but it gave the market a good insight on what upcoming iOS devices will feature. Tim Cook's keynote speech during the Worldwide Developers Conference highlighted the company's effort in opening the iOS 8, making it more accessible and manageable to developers. According to Apple's announcement, the iOS 8 will feature a Predictive Keyboard, Health app and Messaging tweaks. There are also a number of innovative features promising devices like iPhone 6 to be revolutionary.
According to MacRumors, some of the features people can expect from the iOS 8 include time-lapse mode, WiFi calling, grayscale mode and Messaging enhancements. Randomized Mac addresses, safari credit scanning and indoor mapping also guarantee a more exciting iOS experience.
Randomized MAC addresses
People can now stay away from prying companies through the new iOS 8. The Mac address randomization feature included in the interface make it harder for third parties to gather location data from other devices. The feature assigns a unique Mac address to each device. This time, companies can no longer collect information including location data from scanning WiFi connections. The locally designated addresses do not automatically mean it is the device's real address.
Safari Credit Card Scanning
App Stores provides a scanning platform for iTune cards. The same framework will be used for Safari credit scanning. Instead of inputting the credit card number when making purchases online, people can now just scan their credit cards using their iPhones through the iOS 8.
Indoor Mapping
According to Apple's announcement, it will be including an M7 processor and iPhone motion sensors in its CoreLocation API. The app and its new features will allow people to create indoor positioning systems. For instance, people can use the program to display floor numbers or points of interest in airports or universities.
Apple will reportedly release the iPhone 6 this September. Forbes also reported about a patent clearing using sapphire glass and liquidmetal. This will allow Apple to produce strong and flexible screen displays.
