Apple made it clear at the last Worldwide Developers Conference that it has been working on opening its mobile operating system developers. According to the company's announcement during the conference, it has been focusing on providing developers the opportunity to create programs or applications that can function on a variety of screen sizes. Apple also said that it has been interested on creating more dynamic and flexible interfaces with convenient controls and access to app coders.
According to 9to5Mac, a new iOS similar was introduced to the Xcode 6 program. The new simulator allows developers to tweak simulated screens to variety of sizes and resolution. Developers can check easily if their applications will register well given a particular size and resolution. Although the feature remains temporary and in beta, it provides an insight on what Apple expects developers to be working on regarding the iPhone 6. This may also include the iPad series.
The iOS simulator offers screen sizes and resolutions non-existent at the moment. This gives developers the opportunity to test out programs for 4.7 and 5.5-inch screens - reported iPhone 6 screen options. 9to5Mac also reported before that Apple wants to fix the resolution to 1704 to 906 of its iPhone 6 handsets to guarantee smooth transition.
Slash Gear said in a supporting report that developers have been concerned about the screen sizes of the iPhone 6. Any changes in the sizes of the displays mean tweaks in the new titles and existing apps. Some may even have to be redesigned completely. Fortunately, Apple is well aware of this. According to the company, it will be providing a "one storyboard to rule them all." Apple will come up soon with a single app UI designer allowing developers to change screen sizes, orientations and resolutions. Designers can designate categories based from the single original layout. For example a menu system in the iPhone will be similar to the iPad only in higher position because of the portrait orientation of the iPhone.
