The Nexus 5 is the latest flagship handset from Google. Nonetheless, similar to other devices, it does have its share of problems. Here are some top problems and fixes to ensure better user experience.
1. GPS problems
Issues with the GPS are common with the Nexus 5. Users are reporting that the phone is fixed quite quickly, but then becomes inaccurate as soon as they move.
Fix: Go to Settings > Location and make sure that the Mode is set to High Accuracy. You can also press and hold down the power button and simply reset your phone
2. Battery drains quickly or won't charge at all
Another common complaint is about the battery life of the Nexus 5. Like most smartphones, its battery is mediocre and requires charging at least once a day for most people. Some users have also reported that the battery will not charge at all.
Fix: Get a power bank or an extended battery case. If your battery won't charge, it could be the cause of a faulty charger, which would be true if your charger makes a loud buzzing noise or heats up. You can try an alternative charger or simply charge it by plugging it in your laptop.
3. Overheating
Many users complain about their phones warming up quickly when playing music or just generally tinkering around with their phones. When using applications or games that require a lot from the device, users say it really heats up.
Fix: Avoid leaving or using your phone in direct sunlight, and do not leave it in hot areas like in the car sitting under the sun. To help cool down the device, it might help if you close the application and start your phone again.
4. Wi-Fi problems
Owners are sometimes not able to connect, or experience drops in signal. Some also report slow and laggy connections.
Fix: Turn your Wi-Fi off, then turn it back on after a few seconds. You can also try this with Airplane Mode. Turn it on, then turn it back off after a few seconds. An alternative solution would be to restart your phone.
