NBA Finals 2014 Recap of Games 1-5: Relive the glory of the Spurs dethroning the Heat

The 2014 NBA Finals was a rematch in the previous finals between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs where the heat won a tight series that lasted for 7 games.

This time, the San Antonio Spurs were able to extract redemption defeating the Miami Heat in five games (4-1). It was a lopsided series with the Spurs outscoring the Heat by the the biggest average point differential (14.0) in Finals history. The versatile small forward Kawhi Leonard became the third youngest finals MVP in the history of the NBA at the age of 22.

Game 1: Miami Heat 95, San Antonio Spurs 110

Lebron played a solid all around game and the Miami Heat had the momentum going into the fourth quarter until Lebron went down with cramps midway into the final period. Without Lebron, the heat weren't enough to stop the Spurs.

Game 2: Miami Heat 98, San Antonio Spurs 96

After helplessly watching his team being dismantled in the fourth quarter in Game 1 by the Spurs in the sidelines, Lebron was all fired up in game 2. He was great through out the entire game and was very aggressive in the early going. He single handidly beat the spurs in the first half and drained 5 straight jumpers in the crucial 3rd quarter. He also made the the Go-Ahead assist to Bosh

Game 3: San Antonio Spurs 111, Miami Heat 92

LeBron was again aggressive in the early going marked by his 14 points in the first quarter but cooled down afterwards - he only managed 8 points the rest of the way. The Spurs defense made life for LeBron difficult forcing him to commit 7 turn overs in the game. It also eliminated the perimeter threat from Bosh.

This game was a blow out but the Heat had a chance to get back in the game when they cut the Spurs lead to 7 in the third quarter with Dwyane wade leading the way. But they could not get any closer than that. It was also Kawhi Leonard's big night with 29 points.

Game 4: San Antonio Spurs 107, Miami Heat 86

This was a night where Kawhi Leonard outplayed the greatest player on the planet, Lebron James. Kawhi had an impressive over all game with 20 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. He also manage to miss only 5 times. Again, the game was a blow out and the Miami Heat never came close even with LBJ pouring 19 points in the 3rd quarter to lead the Heat to a desperate come back. It was a legendary performance from the San Antonio Spurs squad.

Game 5: Miami Heat 87, San Antonio Spurs 104

Lebron played another great 1st quarter as his team faced the brink of elimination. He chipped in 17 points 8 rebounds in the first quarter alone as his team was ahead by double digits for the first time in the series. The resilient Spurs, however, slowly got back in the game with solid defense and stellar ball movement. They were able to relinquish the lead in the second quarter and never looked back.
