The HTC One M8 has been received positively with industry observers considering as one of the best smartphones out there today. It has been compared to the likes of Samsung Galaxy S5 and LG G3. Here are some problems and fixes that can help users make the most out of the device.
1. Keyboard issues
-The HTC One M8's keyboard is pretty decent, but it seems much too easy to change between languages. There have been complaints of people typing, and then the phone's predictive text goes awry. Only to find out that the phone thinks they have been typing in a different language.
Fix: Turn off the language select function in the settings menu. Go to the Messages application, and tap and hold the button with the comma on it. Tap keyboard selection, which will bring up a list of different languages from across the globe. Simply uncheck everyone except for English (if English is desired). With this, the language select button in the keyboard will disappear.
2. Random crashing of the phone
-There have been reports of the M8 sometimes crashing without any notice. There have been no patterns to the crashes, just random restarts during use of the phone.
Fix: Try restoring the factory settings of the phone by going to Settings > Back up and Reset >Reset Phone > Erase All Data > Ok. You can also try going to Settings > Power > Usage to look and see if any application is using too much resources and power and may be the cause of the random rebooting.
3. Email is not working
-The search function of the email application has some problems displaying the messages, and does not show the results quickly.
Fix: More often than not, Yahoo! Mail users have problems with the HTC's email application because these two do not mix well together. The default settings are incorrect. Yahoo! has provided a solution to this problem - open the menu on your home screen, then tap apps. Open the Mail app, then proceed to tap Other. After that, enter your Yahoo mail information. Keep all of the other settings the same then complete the set up process.
