Chef and host Gordon Ramsey has announced that he has decided to stop making his hit show "Kitchen Nightmares."
The foul-mouthed Scottish celebrity chef made the announcement on his website. "As filming comes to a close on the latest series of Kitchen Nightmares I've decided to stop making the show," he wrote.
Ramsay explained that this was the show that made his TV career take off, and he's very grateful for the team behind it. During the show's run, he said that he has visited over 100 restaurants, and "meeting and trying to help or in some cases failing to help, some of the most weird and wonderful people."
"I'm currently filming 4 new episodes, Costa Del Nightmares, for Channel 4 which will be my last. I've had a phenomenal 10 years making 123 episodes, 12 seasons, shot across 2 continents, watched by tens of millions of people and sold to over 150 countries. It's been a blast but it's time to call it a day."
Ramsay didn't say where he'll go from here, but he promises that there will be more shows. "It's sad to say goodbye to Kitchen Nightmares but I'll be continuing with my other shows. It's been memorable! Thank you for watching," he added.
Ever wondered how man swear words were uttered in the show? Ramsay included a word count in his letter--it's 10,197! There were also 27 meltdowns and approximately 0.4 gallons of...tears.
Aside from being the having shows like "Hell's Kitchen" and "MasterChef," and having restaurants like Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London, Ramsay also holds 14 prestigious Michelin stars.
The filming of "Kitchen Nightmares" will end in Spain. Before wrapping up, the crew will finish filming four new episodes for "Costa Del Nightmares" for Channel 4.
