Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam's death a hoax

By

Fans of Charlie Hunnam can relax now. The star of hit TV show "Sons of Anarchy" is very much alive.

Rumors have been going around that Hunnam was killed. A Facebook Page called "RIP Charlie Hunnam" was even put up, gaining a million followers.

The Facebook page said: "At about 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday (June 17, 2014), our beloved actor Charlie Hunnam passed away. Charlie Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980 in Newcastle upon Tyne. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

Fans who believed the statement immediately posted their condolences and tributes for the 34-year-old actor.

The most recent post on his Twitter fan page was about 13 hours ago, so it's safe to say that he's still in the land of the living. Hunnam hasn't said anything about the hoax, but the site posted "Charlie Hunnam is the Latest Victim of Internet Death Hoax."

A representative released a statement confirming that Hunnam is alive. "He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet."

Meanwhile Hunnam has recently been spotted in the set of the seventh and last season of "Sons of Anarchy." He was seen wearing a San Joaquin County Correctional Facility prison outfit, which could mean that he will be in jail at some point in the series.

Aside from the hit biker drama, Hunnam is also active on the big screen. He was part of Guillermo Del Toro's "Pacific Rim" released last year, and he is set to appear in "Crimson Peak"--also by Del Toro--to be released in 2015.
