Google just finished with its I/O Conference offering a sneak peak of what people can expect from Android in the coming months. Here are some of the most standout features to expect from Google's upcoming Android L.
Material Design
The Google Android L will introduce many 3D and textural elements to its Android interface. It will try to make digital objects look like physical objects right in front of the user by making the Android screen made up of stacks of paper, with lighting, virtual textures, shadowing, and depth.
New soft keys
Instead of the previous looping arrow for "back", two boxes for "multitasking", and a pentagon for "home", Android has changed the design of the soft keys that users frequently interacted with. The Google Android L will now feature a triangle for "back", a circle for "home", and lastly one single box for "multitasking."
Data separation for work and for personal use
Google has installed protected and business only areas for the Android phone, which aims to make everyone in the workforce happy. With this, users can send messages to their employees or superior on the same phone, without accidentally sending a message to the wrong person.
Android TV
The Android TV interface will focus on finding and viewing videos instead of surfing the web using one of the most complicated remote controls in the previous Google TV system. Users will also be able to play games on their televisions, which gives additional value, especially to kids nowadays who love playing video games.
Estimate how long it takes to charge and discharge the battery
When plugged in and on the lock screen, Android will display an estimate of how long it will take to fully charge your battery. Also, when unplugged, users can check how long their battery will last in the battery section of the handset's settings.
