Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd have both confirmed that they are leaving ABC daytime talk show "The View."
"If Sherri goes ... I go too. #sisters," McCarthy said in Twitter. "My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year," she added.
McCarthy and Shepherd's departure came just a month after original co-host/show creator Barbara Walters retired.
ABC released a brief statement about the recent departures, saying that the show is still very much alive: "The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively."
Whoopi Goldberg will now be the original member left in the show.
ABC did not explain why the two are now out of the show, especially now that it has just recently received its highest viewer rating. Goldberg also said that she did not know that McCarthy and Shepherd would no longer be part of Season 18, which will begin in September.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, former "The View" host who left the show last year for "Fox and Friends," said that she is shocked at Shepherd's departure. She told reporters: "I'm sure [Shepherd's shocked]. Even if you think that might happen one day, I'm sure it would come across to be a shock."
ABC has not yet confirmed who will replace the hosts, but rumors are going around that Rosie O'Donnell, professional boxer Lala Ali, daughter of former Utah governor John Huntsman Jr. Abby Huntsman, and Margaret Hoover are being considered by the producers.
It's expected that McCarthy and Shepherd will finish the show's current season, which will end on the first week of August.
