Tracy Morgan accident update: '30 Rock' star moved to rehab center

By

Tracy Morgan's health is improving. The "30 Rock" and "Saturday Night Live" actor is currently in a rehab facility where he will be staying for the next few weeks.

Morgan was severely injured in a car crash on June 7, 2014. He was riding a limo with fellow comedians Ardie Fuqua and James McNair, and his assistant Jeffrey Milea when their car collided with a Walmart truck on the New Jersey Turnpike, killing McNair, and leaving Morgan, Fuqua, and Milea severely injured. Morgan suffered a broken nose, femur, and ribs.

The Walmart truck driver Kevin Roper--who, according to a criminal complaint had been awake for more than 24 hours at the time of the crash--has been charged with vehicular homicide in late June, and he pleaded not guilty to one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. He is currently free on a $50,000 bail.

"Mr. Roper has entered a plea of not guilty. It was not an artificial exercise, but rather the first step in defending the charges that have been filed against him," said David Jay Glassman, Roper's attorney. "The initial investigation results released yesterday by the NTSB have only served to bolster our intention to aggressively defend the matter to the fullest."

There have been some social media hoaxes going around saying that Morgan has died. The 45-year-old actor is very much alive, and has recently been released from a New Jersey hospital. He is now continuing his recovery in an undisclosed rehab facility, where he's expected to stay for the next few weeks.

Morgan's representative said that he still has a long way to go, but that he continues to show signs of improvement. "He and [his fiancée] Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him," the rep added.
