"Insurgent" (or "The Divergent Series: Insurgent"), the second installment off the "Divergent" films is set to hit theaters next year. Here are some of the things that we know so far.
The movie will be directed by Robert Schwentke, and writhed by Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman.
IMDB says: "Beatrice Prior must confront her inner demons and continue her fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart."
The cast includes Shailene Woodley as Beatrice, Ansel Elgort as Caleb, Theo James as Four, Miles Teller as Peter, Kate Winslet as Jeanine, Hai Courtnety as Eric, Naomi Watts as Evelyn, and Zoe Kravitz as Christina.
A lot of stunts are expected from James and Woodley. According to reports, some of the scenes involve rooftops and ziplines. Last month, new actor Keiynan Lonsdale has also been cast as Uriah.
Production started in Atlanta in May. The filming took place at the United States Penitentiary, and a set was constructed at the Serenbe community for the Amity Compound.
Meanwhile, "Divergent" series creator Veronica Roth has announced that she will release a new book entitled "Four: A Divergent Collection" on July 8.
In an interview, Roth gave some hints on what to expect in the book: "They are significant lines that Four speaks to Tris, and it's just a scene written from his perspective instead of hers. So, it's a lot of firsts: The first time he sees her. It's the first time he recognizes her strength. And, it's the first time that he, you know, starts to flirt with her a little bit."
Last April, Summit entertainment announced that there will be two films based in the final book of the "Divergent" trilogy--"The Divergent Series: Allegiant - Part 1" will be released on March 18, 2016, and "The Divergent Series: Allegiant - Part 2" will hit theaters on March 24, 2017.
"Insurgent" will hit theaters on March 20, 2015 in the United States.
