Batman v Superman movie updates: actors, plot, release date

It's all coming together: a movie starring the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader--the two greatest superheroes of all time--will be released worldwide on 2016.

The movie has officially been titled "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," an intended sequel to 2013's "Man of Steel." Here are the things that we know so far:

It will be directed by "Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David Goyer. According to Cinemablend, Goyer wrote the original draft of the screenplay, but it was "Argo" screenwriter Chris Terrio who will write the actual script.

The movie's plot has not yet been revealed, but fans have a number of theories, one of which is the story starting off with Batman and Superman being enemies, but would fight together towards the end.
Screenrant says: "In the followup to Man of Steel, Henry Cavill returns as Clark Kent/Kal-El after the events of the Kryptonian attack on Metropolis that marked the beginning of his journey as Superman. Ben Affleck's "tired, weary and seasoned" Bruce Wayne suits up as Batman to hold Superman accountable, along the way forming the epic partnership that will one day be the foundation of the Justice League."

Henry Cavill is set to play Superman and Ben Affleck will play Batman. Other cast members will include Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman/Diana Prince), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), and Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth).

Jason Momoa (famous for his role as Khal Drogo in HBO's "Game of Thrones"), has also been confirmed to play Aquaman--a minor role.

The Batman v Superman movie hasn't been shown yet, but it has already been announced that it will be followed by a Justice League film (also directed by Snyder). Affleck, Cavill, and Gadot, are expected to reprise their roles.
