Colin Trevorrow may currently be busy shooting "Jurassic World," but the director still has time for a little fun on social media. And recently, the director posted something of note- a set photo showing off the side of a vehicle, marked "Mobile Veterinary Unit," smeared with a bloody handprint.
The caption: "Saturday, 4 AM." Clearly the aftermath of a vicious dinosaur attack.
This isn't the first time Trevorrow has teased the upcoming "Jurassic Park" sequel over social media. A few weeks ago, he posted a silhouette of monster jaws, accompanied by the word "Nights."
These clues are likely meant to tease "Jurassic World's" appearance at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, which begins July 24 and will certainly have a substantial "Jurassic World" presence. Phil Tippett, the visual effects artist and dinosaur supervisor for the original "Jurassic Park," Tippett tweeted the following:
"-taking something BIG out of storage- dusting off, polishing up, reconnecting w an old, 8-foot friend- see u at @Comic-Con"
Tippett's "8-foot friend" is bound to be one of his animatronic dinosaurs, meant to tease the new "Jurassic" sequel.
Fans of the franchise are no doubt hoping to see the first footage from the film at Comic-Con, or perhaps the new dinosaur that Trevorrow teased in an interview with SlashFilm. According to Trevorrow, the new beast is the aftermath of genetic experimenting that mixes dinosaur DNA with other animals to create a bigger, better monster.
Although Trevorrow stresses that this new animal still very much resembles a dinosaur, without "a snake's head or octopus tentacles," as was previously rumored.
The film stars Chris Pratt as a velociraptor researcher along with Bryce Dallas Howard, and featuring Vincent D'Onofrio as the film's villain.
Expect more tweets from Trevorrow as Comic-Con nears its July start date.
"Jurassic World" is slated to release on June 12, 2015.
