Floyd Mayweather Vs. Marcos Maidana Fight on September 13 Unconfirmed; Amir Khan Fight Possible

Floyd Mayweather is ready to set the stage on fire this September, as he announced his next fight. Mayweather will fight Marcos Maidana for the second time when they will face each other this autumn.

Maidana has given a tough fight to the pound-for-pound No 1, when they last encountered at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather confirmed his next fight opposite Maidana on September 13.

According to Daily Mail, Weather confirmed the fight at the BET Awards in Los Angeles.

He said, "September 13, back to business, Marcos Maidana vs Floyd Mayweather Part II.'Then in May, I'll have a big surprise for you." Amir Khan is believed to be a possible opponent for Mayweather next May after the Brit missed out this year.

According to ESPN.com, Maidana's manager, Sabastian Contursi said, there is no such deal that confirms this big fight and he is still talking to both the player's advisor about the fight.

"Still in the talks. Nothing confirmed on our side," Contursi said. "Hopefully, we'll have a decision made in the next 4-5 days."

According to ESPN, the fight generated around 850,000 buys in pay-per-view numbers-which is not even close to the 1 million plus predicted by Mayweather. He generated 2.2 million which is second all time by his previous fight against Canelo Alvarez, last September.

It is second of the three fights Mayweather has fought so far on his six-fight deal with Showtime/CBS which is not able to crack 1 million buys, including his first fight against Robert Guerrero held in May 2013. It must be a tough time for Showtime as Mayweather's is guaranteed of $32 million for the fight against Maidana, but they are not generating expected buys.

Maidana gave a very tough fight to Mayweather last time. This was arguably, Mayweather's toughest encounter in his career. This September, another history will be written.
