Motorola was planning to launch a successor to its 8 month old Moto X, which is being called Moto X+1 or Moto X2. Although, the launch was planned for May this year, but it never happened.
The Moto X2 is said to boast of a 5.2 inches full HD display. Additionally, it is reported that the Moto X2 will be powered by a new generation quad-core processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon that clocks at 2.3 Ghz. The phone is also expected to run on the Android version 4.4.3, backed up by 2 GB of RAM.
The Moto X2 will sport a 12 MP rear camera and may have a 2 MP or better front-facing camera. The phone is reportedly coming in three variants, with an in-built memory of 16, 32, 64 GB and no slot for a micro SD card. It also has an advanced battery life than its predecessor with a 2600 mAh non-removable battery unit.
Like Moto X, the X2 also supports nano-sim and is supposed to have the same array of colour options for its back panels. There have been leaked images of the Moto X2 at @evleaks on twitter, where the phone features with a Incipio casing, which Verizon is said to be promoting along with the phone.
The images suggest that the cover, which is made from a rigid shell of Plextonium polycarbonate with a leather back cover, won't make the phone look bulky. It is said that the cover will be available in four colour variants- grey, blue, red and black.
With all these upgrades, one thing is for sure that the Moto X2 isn't going to come as cheap as the Moto X and might be a little heavy on one's pocket too.
