The fifth season of AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead" is set to come out this October.
While the cast and crew are gearing up for yet another exciting season, here are some things to get you excited. Below are some things that we know about the fifth season so far.
"Talking Dead" host Chris Hardwick talked to some cast members on the set during the fourth of July weekend. He asked Alanna Masterson, who plays Tara, how she would describe the fifth season so far in one word.
Masterson answered: "Psychotic."
Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Norman Reedus (Daryl) also have the same sentiments, saying that there were scenes in the upcoming season's premiers that were so disturbing, they thought it was not going to make it to television. Reedus added that this new one is "completely insane."
"I sort of knew I needed like a good month to rest to jump in. The storyline they're throwing me is a thousand miles an hour," he added.
In a May interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator Robert Kirkman said that everyone in the show is happy to be back together, and that they are making "another magical season."
"We're doing new and different and crazy and exciting things and now I think the atmosphere is that we can't wait until we can start sharing things with people and start showing things to people because we're really excited about what we're doing here," he said.
Talking about that cliffhanger from the fourth season where Rick and company are trapped inside a train car possibly by the Terminus cannibals, Kirkman confirmed that they would begin the fifth season with heightened action--a change in pace, as Season 4 was a bit slow-moving and focused more on personal stories.
Filming is ongoing, and there have been some leaked photos--by the devoted people from The Spoiling Dead--from the set in Griffin, Georgia. There's a bloody fire truck, a shot of Reedus and Melissa McBride (Carol) together, and some photos suggesting that Rick and some people from the group arriving at the fenced hospital.
