American psychological thriller TV series "Hannibal," has recently been renewed for a third season. Here are some things that we know about it so far.
Bryan Fuller, the show's creator, recently talked about his dream casting for the upcoming season.
Fuller expressed his interest in casting musician David Bowie for the second season, but due to Bowie's busy schedule, this did not push through.
There is still, however, a possibility that Bowie could be available for the third season. In an interview, Fuller said that Bowie's people asked them to make sure to ask them again about the musician's availability: "So, once we have our dates, we are going to ask again. I think the man walks on water, so I would love to be in his orbit, in some way... He's very aware [of the offer]. But he's also very, very busy," said Fuller.
Fuller also expressed his interest in casting David Thewlis ("Harry Potter" film series), Brad Dourif ("One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"), Kristin Chenoweth ("Pusing Daisies"), Lee Pace ("Pushing Daisies," "The Hobbit"), and Anna Friel ("Limitless")--the schedules aren't working out right now, but Fuller said that he's not going to stop trying.
For season 3, Fuller said that he will take elements from the novels "Hannibal Rising" and "Hannibal" and mash them up.
"It's going to be fun to bastardize two novels into one sort of Frankenstein season. I will brace everybody right now: We're significantly changing the Hannibal origin story from Hannibal Rising," he told TV Guide.
Also, fans could expect Francis Dolarhyde, Mason Verger, and Lady Murasaki in the upcoming season.
No official date has been released yet, but season 3 of "Hannibal is set to return to NBC in spring next year.
