'Criminal Minds' Season 10: new cast members and photos from first table read revealed

By

More and more details of the 10th season of hit CBS crime drama "Criminal Minds," set to come out in October, are coming out. Here are the latest developments that we know so far.

One of the biggest news is a new cast addition--Jennifer Love Hewitt will be joining the crew as Kate Callahan, a former undercover FBI agent who will work under the Behavioral Analysis Unit.

Showrunner Erica Messer said in a statement: "We're thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast. Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season."

Hewitt, whose other TV appearances include "Party of Five," "Ghost Whisperer," and "The Client List," will be replacing Jeanne Tripplehorn (Alex Blake), who left in the season 9 finale.

Photos of the round table have also surfaced online. The Criminal Minds Round Table Blogspot site shows actors like Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Thomas Gibson, and Kristen Vangsness reading their script--it looks like most of the main characters are here to stay.

In an interview with Cook, who plays Jennifer Jareau, said that everyone gets nervous after the end of each season, wondering if they are going to be written off.

"So whenever you get those scripts you skip to the end. It was pretty crazy to see who they decided to shoot, the two heartthrobs. What a way to go. It was so mean to leave it hanging like that and make everyone wait a week. We are picking it up right where we left off in the middle of that shootout guns a blazing. We also learn a huge secret about one of the other characters that will forever change the face of the BAU," she said.

Meanwhile, Mail Online published some pictures of Shemar Moore looking relaxed and ripped in Miami beach, having fun and posing for pictures with fans (even getting a little bit too personal with one).

"Criminal Minds" Season 10 will premiere in October 1, Wednesday, at 9pm on CBS.
