It's official: "Fast & Furious 7" will be released on April 3, 2015.
The movie, directed by James Wan ("Saw," "The Conjuring") was previously set for release on April 10, 2015, but the studio reportedly decided that opening a week earlier will make them book more international dates.
The cast members who will be returning for the seventh installment includes Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Lucas Black.
Paul Walker (Brian O'Conner) who passed away on November 30, 2013, will also be included in the movie. Walker had already worked on many scenes, but the movie was far from finished at this point. What Wan and the studio eventually did was get four actors that had similar physiques as Walker's--they will be used for "for movement and as a base," and have Walker's face CGI'd on them.
Two of the men who would reportedly play Walker's parts are his brothers Caleb and Cody. The studio said in a statement that having these two men on the set is like having Paul around, too.
"Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of 'Fast & Furious 7,' which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015, Universal issued a statement last December. "James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers."
The film was supposed to be released sometime in the summer this year, but things were put on hold after Walker's death.
Universal has not released a trailer yet, but keep your eyes peeled! More news would surely come out in the coming weeks and months.
