Half Life 3 Release Concept Confirmed: What to Expect

By

Half-Life 2: Episode Two will have its seventh-year anniversary this October. The game remains the last installment under the signature first-person shooter series of Valve. Fortunately for those already losing hope, new details about Half Life 3 emerged supporting the possible release of the game soon.

Valve remains tightlipped about the game including development of the franchise's third episode. However, a number of hints have the market buzzing with excitement. In fact, Counter-Strike creator, Minh Le, said in an interview with Twitch that he saw a number of concept arts for the Half-Life 3.

"I don't think I can talk about that, to be honest," warned before discussing what he knew about the game.

"I think it's kind of public knowledge that people know that it is being worked on. And so if I were to say that yeah, I've seen some images, like some concept art of it, that wouldn't be big news to be honest. "

"I guess I could say that I did see something that looked kinda like in the Half-Life universe," he added.

"And I mean it wouldn't surprise anyone if I said they're doing it, they're working on it, yeah. So to go on a limb I'd say I did see some concept art for Half-Life 3."

According to Load the Game, players can expect the third episode to be available around 2015 although Valve has not confirmed anything. Gabe Newell, the founder of Valve shared his thoughts previously with The Washington Post. Half 2 was not as well received as much success as expected. The company changed directions at that time which may not have appealed to many fans. According to Newell:

"When we started out we were a single-player video game company that could have been really successful just doing Half-Life sequel after Half-Life sequel, but we collectively said let's try to make multiplayer games even though there's never been a commercial successful multiplayer game."

"Then we tried to do Steam. There were a bunch of people internally who thought Steam was a really bad idea, but what they didn't think was that they would tell the people who were working on Steam what to do with their time. They were like "that's what you want to do with your time, that's fine, but we're going to spend our time working on Half-Life 2. We think you're kind of wasting your time, but it's your time to waste."
