One guess is Enzo, who has been promoted to series regular for the sixth season.
With Enzo in the picture, the two could bond over their brotherly love for Damon. Avid viewers will remember that the Augustine vampire spent some time with Damon as his cell mate before their bond was severed and Enzo became hell-bent on ruining the relationship of the Salvatore brothers.
