Samsung Galaxy S3 users can now enjoy most of the features of latest Samsung Galaxy S5 on their devices as the popular custom ROM developers CyanogenMod have released the new android v4.4 KitKat CM11 M8 firmware for Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-19300 and GT-19305.

Android v4.4 KitKat is said to provide new visual interface, customization options to improve device performance, easy access to apps and faster multitasking as well as many more user friendly features.

The Galaxy S3 smart phones also contain features like Multi Window, Ultra Power Saving Mode and Smart Pause along with smooth and buttery performance, according to android origin.com.

For better performance and efficient battery, the developers have removed all the bloatware which was only available to the Galaxy S5 users. As a result, the demand for Samsung Galaxy S5 phones has recently declined in the market.

The new android update for Samsung smart phones are still not available in various parts of the world including France and Australia. It will be universally available to the users by this August, reports Air Herald.

Though the android 4.4 update is available for free to Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-19300 and GT-19305 users, there are certain technical issues with the camera app and video player, according to motoringcrunch.com.

Unfortunately, the polish version of Galaxy S3 does not support the Android 4.4 update due to insufficient RAM, states the company in an official statement.

Now the Galaxy S3 users are just waiting to see the possibility of updating their handsets further with Android 4.5/5.0 L version.

Samsung Galaxy S3 was released in the market two years ago and is one of the Samsung's best selling smart phones till date. According to a recent report by Air Herald, 50 million units of Galaxy S3 phones have been sold last year.
