Nexus 6 Confirmed Release in October to Kill Nexus 5

Google's I/O event did not reveal details about the upcoming Nexus 6 but the company did refute reports about its plans on killing the product line. Fortunately, a number of leaks or hints suggest that Nexus 6 is well on its way. If Google will not run into any problems then people can expect the device to hit around October or in November the latest. Can Google deliver a killer device?

According to Forbes, Google has reached out to LG Electronics to create the Nexus 6. The company received positive reviews following the release of the LG G3 thus the promising potential. Nonetheless, LG did not acknowledge it yet. According to Ken Hong, Director of Communications: "Normally, we were informed. Either I got ignored, or we simply won't be making [the Nexus 6]."

Nonetheless, people should expect the Nexus 6 soon. ReadWrite interviewed David Burke, Head of Android Engineering and Nexus Program. According to the official:

"People just get excited by concepts and forget why we do things," Burke shared during the interview. "We are still invested in Nexus."

"People have been commenting about Nexus because there is something else and they think that means the end of Nexus. That is the totally wrong conclusion to make," the official noted.

According to Know Your Mobile, the Nexus 6 will reportedly come with a 5.5in QHD display like LG G3, a quad-core MT6732 64-bit chip clocked at 1.5GHz and 3GB RAM. However, the device may also run on an octa-core MT6752 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz. Similar to the Nexus 8, the Google Nexus 6 could also debut with the Google Android L.
