"24: Live Another Day" finale, will be remembered by fans all around the world. Director and producer Jon Cassar recently talked about actor Jack Bauer's possible return for season 2, or season 10 of the whole "24" franchise. Peter Rice, the Chairman and CEO of Fox Networks Group, also hinted at of Live another day possible return with season 2.
"24: Live Another Day" finale ended with a silent clock, which Seriable.com remarks as a device that "has been used previously (albeit rarely) throughout the series to signal death, surrender, sadness, etc, its use at the end of Day 9 places an inevitable question mark over the future of the show, which remains uncertain at Fox."
Director Jon Cassar told Yahoo TV, "What does that silent clock mean at the end? I don't know if we know that yet."
Also, Fox CEO Peter Rice said at the 2014 Summer TCA Press Tour, he's "always been a fan" of the show, and its recent comeback "was fantastic," according to E! News. But the network hasn't "had a specific conversation about it coming back yet. I'm sure we will in the future. It's a wonderful franchise.
"I loved this year's season of 24," Rice said. "I thought it was fantastic. I've always been a fan, and it just twisted and turned, and I could never guess where it was going. We haven't had a specific conversation about it coming back yet. I'm sure that we will in the future."
"Kiefer, Evan [Katz], Howard [Gordon] and Manny [Coto] did a great job this year," he continued. "When you look at the show itself, I think it has many more stories to tell, but I think we need to sit down and talk to the creators about it."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Manny Coto is open to the possibility of bringing Jack Bauer back for "24: Live Another Day" season 2. All he and executive producer Jon Cassar need is a great storyline.
"All it really takes is a story that fires us up. That's what got us excited about doing this season," Coto. "I think what would draw us back if that were ever to happen - and that's definitely up in the air - would be we or somebody presents an interesting take on Jack, on Jack's character, and where he is, which would suggest a great season."
