Insidious chapter 3 has officially commenced with production, Focus Features announced today. The creators have recently moved the release date back a few months. This horror flick is likely to give competition to blockbusters like "Avengers: Age of Ultron" that is also set to release in next year.
The third Insidious is reportedly changing things behind the camera as series writer Leigh Whannell is taking over for direction for couple of new cast members in the franchise.
Cast members Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson and Whannell are reprising their roles from the previous films. This chapter is definitely not a continuation - it's a prequel!
A brief official plot synopsis along with the photo of the set with Whannell and other main cast was revealed, giving a clue to what happens before the Patrick Wilson- and Rose Byrne-led films.
"In 'Insidious: Chapter 3,' a twisted new tale of terror begins for a teenage girl and her family, predating the haunting of the Lambert family in the earlier movies and revealing more mysteries of the otherworldly realm The Further."
The new additions to the cast are Dermot Mulroney (August: Osage County) and Stefanie Scott (Jem and the Holograms movie) will take the lead.
Focus Features and Blumhouse Productions are presenting fans a chance to visit the 'Insidious 3′ set.
